Who is Billie?
Billie is a lovely French Bulldog. He usually hangs out at his very own craft beer bar, called Billie’s Bier Kafétaria, which he founded in December 2013. Even though he is very fond of this place, he felt something was lacking. Billie had a dream about a magical location where beer lovers and brewers could celebrate, discuss and enjoy craft beer. It’s in this spirit that Billie proudly presents Billie’s Craft Beer Fest. All hail Billie.

Will Billie be attending the festival himself?
Unfortunately Billie left us a few years ago. He is forever in our thoughts and will be missed.
What does All-in mean?
Billie's Craft Beer Fest works with an ALL-IN TICKET FORMULA. This includes entry, a BCBF tasting glass, unlimited beer tasting (around 400 different beers to taste: +-200 on Friday and +-200 new ones on Saturday) and a (refillable) bottle of water (food, other beverages than the beers from tap & tattoos not included).
Why all-in?
Why do we choose this formula? First and foremost to satisfy our primary target group. With BCBF we want to attract the true beer enthusiasts. It’s not about unrestricted binge drinking, but about discovering and tasting beer freely, without limits. The formula allows you to discover and try out various beers for less money. As an enthusiast, you can expect total freedom: it’s possible to have only a leak of beer in your glass, but if you like a beer and want a full glass, it’s not a problem. In other words, you can choose the amount of any beer without extra expenses made. Furthermore we want to encourage people to try out new beer styles/breweries that they don’t know. With a token system people are more likely to make a safe bet. They stick to the stuff they know. With our all-in formula, we hope that people will try out new beer styles/breweries without any prejudices. If a beer isn’t to your liking, it doesn’t cost you extra. Lastly, we also think about the comfort of our visitors: an all-in formula also means that people don’t have to stand in line to buy tokens and that they don’t have to search for tokens at every brewer stand. Queues are limited to a minimum, which makes service in general a lot faster. In short, with BCBF it’s all about the experience and the comfort of the visitor, hence our slogan “No crap just craft”.
Do the beers that I can taste on Friday differ from the beers I can taste on Saturday?
Yes, in total there will be around 400 beers you can try out: 200 on Friday, and 200 different ones on Saturday.
Will any of the brewers attend the festival?
Yes, for all of the breweries one or two of the (head)brewers will be present.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Yes, you have to be over 16 years old to enter. Make sure to have your ID with you, since you can be asked to show it at all times.
When do you make your last serve?
We pour the last glass 5 minutes before closing time.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
It is possible to park on the streets around the venue and there is a big parking area next to the event site. A separate parking area is provided for busses. However, we strongly recommend using public transportation when visiting the festival. For more information about public transportation, please check out the practical page.
Can I bring my own bottles?
Yes, bottle sharing is allowed as this is a festival for craft beer lovers. We do hold a maximum of 2 bottles per person.
What can I NOT bring into Billie’s Craft Beer Fest?
It is not allowed to enter the festival ground with the following objects: drugs, plastic bottles, blunt, stab or thrust weapons or firearms or other items that might be used as a weapon, items that might have a negative effect on the safety, health or wellbeing of the festival-goers and any other item which may be considered as dangerous by the organisation. We reserve the right at our discretion to remove any individual(s) from the festival for behaving inappropriately. You will be escorted out and not allowed back in. We do not allow drunks!
What's the refund policy?
- Tickets are NON REFUNDABLE and cannot be exchanged for an alternate day.
- Buying tickets from 3rd parties is at your own risk. We recommend using ticketswap in case you are looking to resell/buy tickets when the event is sold out.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, you need to bring your ticket in some form, printed or by mobile. If we can NOT scan the ticket, it’s considered as NOT valid.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes, the ticket can be used by someone else as long as the person in question is over 16 years old.
Can we bring our children?
No, as much as we love children, this is not the ideal place for children. We make exceptions for infants that cannot walk on their own and stay in their stroller.
Are dogs allowed on the premises?
Yes, dogs are allowed on the premises, although we strongly recommend not bringing them, since festivals of any kind are experienced as very stressful by our canine friends. We use glasses at the festival. The chance of broken glass is high and that can be dangerous for the paws. The In case you should bring your dog, please remember Billie is always right.
Is the event accessible for people with reduced mobility?
Yes, Waagnatie is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility.
